Our 2020 Weston Bate Oration has been cancelled (possibly postponed until Spring). However the AGM will be going ahead, on 19 May, through ZOOM so we will be sending, by email, a link to all members so that they can join in our AGM through the web (either video or audio) and participate in the AGM, ask questions of the Council etc.

Although our book club is very new we have set an extremely high bar in that we've had great discussions with the authors every time. And June will be no different. Our choice for June is Richard Broome's Aboriginal Victorians and we are delighted that Richard has agreed to join us. This book is a fascinating and sometimes horrifying story of Aborigines in Victoria since white settlement, from one of Australia's leading historians. Early settlers saw Victoria and its rolling grasslands as Australia felix happy south land a prize left for Englishmen by God. However, for its original inhabitants this country was home and life, not to be relinquished without a fierce struggle.
