LA TROBE'S GOLD AND SILVER TESTIMONIAL PIECES Speaker: Susan Priestley, Fellow RHSV La Trobe’s farewell tribute from the people of Victoria in 1853 included a superb gold cup made in Melbourne (whereabouts unknown since 1862) and a London-made spectacular silver and glass candelabrum centrepiece, now in the collection of the National Gallery of Victoria. Following the Australian Garden History Society's AGM, Sara Hardy will speak on 'Edna Walling'- an unusual life'. Sara Hardy is a playwright, biographer, novelist and former actor. Sara was inspired to write her first biography, The Unusual Life of Edna Walling, after portraying the famous Australian landscape designer in a theatre performance. Drinks and light refreshments will be available from 5:30 and the AGM begins at 6:00pm.
