The RHSV has been successful in gaining a grant from the Foundation for Regional and Rural Renewal (FRRR) for 2019 to engage and train a Digital Co-ordinator to work with 4 historical societies which are all in areas affected by the 2009 bushfires: Kinglake Historical Society; Marysville Historical Society; Fawcett Mechanics Institute; and Alexandra Historical Society.
The 4 societies will share two scanners and will be trained in creating digital archives so as to fire-proof their collections as much as possible.
