The Warrnambool Pioneers’ Honour Board is a rare and magnificent historical artefact.
Conceived by Edward Vidler to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of Warrnambool, the board has had an adventurous life of its own.
The board was largely the work of Warrnambool artist Miss Lilian Foyle, although Foyles Studio was not paid for 17 years.
Over the years the board has had many homes, some far from suitable, and undergone both skilled and amateur restorations. Recording its history has been a long, complex and intriguing task.
