The 2447 ton clipper Champion of the Seas carried around 5300 migrants during 15 voyages from Liverpool to Melbourne between 1854 and 1868. A selection of shipboard diaries, extracts from the Captain’s Log, and full reprint of The Champion of the Seas Gazette, and The Champion of the Seas Times, printed weekly onboard. With facsimile of documents and newspaper entries, b/w illustrations (engravings, etchings and photos), plus 1 b/w and 3 colour plates. Inside front cover (in colour): Entrance of Port Phillip. Inside back cover (in colour): Lighthouse at Point Lonsdale.
