The Shire of Morwell commissioned the author to produce a Centenary history of the town of Morwell and this is the result. It tells the story of people, ordinary people who came to Longwell with faith and courage, who dream dreams, made plans, new failure as well as success, who reared families, accept responsibilities looking for neither recognition or praise, and in the process came to Longwell the character and drive it is made of the foremost town in the Latrobe Valley.
