I picked up this little book at the Penshurst Post Office on 4th December, quite accidentally. It is extremely interesting for anyone interested in the history of the Hamilton district and the amazing variety of the names of places – Panyabbyr or Karabeal? Hochkirk or Tarrington? It’s a great reference to keep in the glovebox as you drive the shire’s byways.
