Description
One migrant family. Seven generations of culture and conflict. Achievements, compassion and understanding.
Occasionally, a moment, a memory, a meeting, an event happens that changes the way you live your life. Finding his sister Agapi’s grave in a rural Greek village changed George Kyriakou. It inspired him to find out more about his extended family. The hardships, two world wars, civil wars, hunger and sacrifices going back to the 1860’s are reflected through this memoir. He gained a better understanding of the Greek Macedonian issue and maybe readers will too. But this is more than a reflection of one family, it’s about survival, conflict, different times, different places and a different way of life.
