It is a rich and exciting period in the life of this adventure loving young Dane who recorded it all vividly nd faithfully in a diary that accompanied him everywhere. The last part of the book describes Melbourne in the spirited period that followed the goldrushes. Here Claus Gronn eventually settled as a highly respected citizen.
Edited and introduced by his granddaughter, and interestingly documented and illustrated, this colourful piece of writing from the last century is a valuable historical document as well as a most readable and exciting real-life story.
