“Many have enjoyed browsing through Readers Digest magazine. Discovering short articles of genuine interest is as satisfying as picking the best items out of a box of assorted chocolates. Agan Kernow is that sort of book, especially for those with a passion for all things Cornish. Stories featuring Cornwall in modern times are scattered among fascinating accounts of the life left behind in Cornwall as ancestors joined the Cornish Diaspora and adjusted to new lives in Australia, New Zealand, or North America. Emotions range from great joy to deep sorrow. A recurring theme is the resilience and determination of ancestors in the face of challenges, even those as great as experienced by one Cornishman subjected to forced POW labour on the infamous Burma-Thailand Railway of WW2. It is a splendid book enhancing appreciation of all that it means to be Cornish.” – William J. Curnow, Bard of the Gorsedh Kernow, Florida USA.
