AGM and Speaker Series – City of Protest? Melbourne and its history of dissent

July 31 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

$2

We invite members and friends of Glen Eira Historical Society to join us at our AGM followed by a presentation from Margaret Anderson FFAHS, Director Old Treasury Building, on our city’s history of protest.
Melbourne’s history of protest reaches back to the very first decade after Europeans first made their homes here. It has continued unabated ever since. In this presentation Margaret Anderson will reflect on some of the issues that have stirred Melburnians to take to the streets. From the 1840s to the present, protest has formed a part of our robust democracy.
