About this objectCallaghan married John Batman on 29 March 1828 in St John's, Launceston, Tasmania. They had seven daughters and a son. She was also known as Eliza Thompson, and, at the time of her death, Sarah Willoughby.
There is a question whether she was hidden by Batman at Kingston near Ben Lomond in 1825? The author gives the police evidence.
Also given is the evidence at her Old Bailey trial and the statement made at the inquest which followed her murder at Geelong in 1852.
