About this objectA souvenir ticket to attend the pioneer pilgrimage to the Yarra river and picnic held on the Henley Lawns on 18th and 19th November 1934 to commemorate the Centenary of the first settlement in Melbourne.
The celebrations with a variety of entertainments were organised by The Historical Society of Victoria and representatives of the different religious denominations and the proceeds donated to the Old Pioneers Memorial Fund.
There is a portrait of Edward Henty, a sketch of a bronzewing pigeon, a photograph of a golden wattle tree and an extract from a poem called 'The maids of early Melbourne'.
