About this objectA series of photographs of the hotel, also known as Thorne’s Bridge Hotel and Store, and specific architectural features.
During the years 1868-1869, Henry Thorne built the “Bridge Hotel and Store” at 10 High Road, Murchison, and held the licence until 1893. Also attached to the hotel was a large general store, a cellar and, at the back, a large stable block and laundry... Mr E J Gregory was the next owner of the hotel, with extensions being carried out in 1894 and again in 1905. [source : Thornebridge - a grand Murchison landmark]
The verandah was added in 1892.
Both the building and the London Plane tree (Platanus x acerifolia) at the front are listed on the Heritage Register.
