About this objectThis photograph of the Treasury Building, located on the east side of Spring Street, between Treasury Place and MacArthur Street and facing down Collins Street, has been taken from Collins Street.
This is an unusual photograph of the building taken at night during the celebrations to mark Federation in 1901. The architectural features are highlighted and on the face of the building is written, ALL HAIL OUR FUTURE KING AND QUEEN. The king being Edward VII and his wife Mary, crowned in 1902.
One of the many glass slides purchased from retailers or specifically made for illustrated lectures given by Isaac Selby between c. 1930 and c. 1955 to raise money for the Old Pioneers Memorial Fund.
