About this objectThis photograph of the Eastern Hill Fire Station has been taken from the opposite corner of Victoria Parade and Gisbourne Street, soon after it was built in 1894.
The building is now the Eastern Hill Fire Station Museum at 39 Gisborne St.
To the right of the image to the west of the fire station is a Victorian terrace house called "Clonlara", the residence of the Mornane family.
One of the many glass slides purchased from retailers or specifically made for illustrated lectures given by Isaac Selby between c. 1930 and c. 1955 to raise money for the Old Pioneers Memorial Fund.
