About this objectThe photo shows pupils of Albert Park State School (SS 1181), St Kilda, assembled in front of the school buildings, c. 1930.
Located on Bridport Street and Victorian Avenue. Founded in January 1873, it was initially known as the "Mechanics' Institute School No. 1181". Designed by architect Joseph Schneider, built by Peason and Downie and opened in April 1874.

One of the many glass slides purchased from retailers or specifically made for illustrated lectures given by Isaac Selby between c. 1930 and c. 1955 to raise money for the Old Pioneers Memorial Fund.
