About this objectGlass slide that depicts Stephen George Henty's home in Portland and the plough that turned the first furrows, December 6, 1834.
There are a group of men and women outside the building and it is in a garden setting. The plough is a commemoration plaque in memory of the first soil ploughed in Victoria.
One of many glass slides purchased from retailers or specifically made for illustrated lectures given by Isaac Selby between c. 1930 and c. 1955 to raise money for the Old Pioneers Memorial Fund.
