About this objectGlass slide that depicts a farming homestead in a bushland setting at Glenorchy, Victoria. There are a group of aboriginals and two horses in front of the timber buildings. A man is astride on each horse. There is a fence line that joins with one of the buildings.
Ledcourt Homestead [125 Ledcourt Road, Ledcourt, North Grampians Shire] is historically significant as the oldest established pastoral residence in the Stawell region. Marcus Clarke was employed on the property for a short period [c. 1866 ] and lived in a two-roomed cottage near the homestead (no longer evident).

One of many glass slides purchased from retailers or specifically made for illustrated lectures given by Isaac Selby between c. 1930 and c. 1955 to raise money for the Old Pioneers Memorial Fund.
