This is not a history of the Shire, it is an interesting fact-filled account of the pioneers and of their settlements in the district that was incorporated into a local government area, known as Hornsby Shire, in 1906. The book traces the pre-European period, the first exploration, the convict settlement, and identifies many hundreds of families who pioneered the Hawkesbury River area, from Brooklyn to Wiseman’s Ferry… The emphasis in the book is on people rather than events.
Very good condition – slight wear and tear to cover, staining on pages due to age.
