A message from our President, Emeritus Professor Richard Broome AM.

The RHSV, the second oldest historical society in the country, turns 115 in 2024! It also celebrates twenty-five years of residency in the Drill Hall.

As a not-for-profit volunteer organisation that uniquely cares for the history and heritage of this state and of Melbourne in particular, the Society constantly needs funds to carry on our important work of creating a historical legacy for the future.

Please help celebrate our longevity with a gift that will ensure this continues.

The RHSV would be delighted if you will fund fully or contribute to one of these projects below to help the Society move into its next decade in robust financial health, able to fulfil its mission with confidence and creativity.

1. To catalogue the Ann Jackson Collection we need $25,000
2. A Compactus for the Allan Willingham Collection $20,000
3. To contribute to the mountain of archival material we need to bring donations of material into our collection $25,000
4. Become a History News lover 6 issue pa @ $2000 per issue is $12,000
5. Digitisation of Key RHSV manuscripts
6. $500: allows us an extra year of index for the VHJ
7. Digitisation and conservation of our manuscripts

All donations of at least $2 may be deductible for tax purposes.

Please note that if the full amount is raised for one particular project your funds will be used for a similar project.
