Discover the history of ships in Port Melbourne with local author Nick Cree.

Nick Cree will be speaking about the ships that came through Port Melbourne in the 50’s and 60’s, and the myriad of personal stories of the people who embarked in Melbourne. Do you have a personal association with one of those ships?

This event is part of the exhibition Remarkable: stories of Australians and their boats.

Australia’s history is full of maritime-related stories. With over 1,000 rivers and a coast that stretches for more than 36,000 kilometres, it is no surprise that Australia abounds with stories of people who have lived and worked on the water. This exhibition presents some of those stories, exploring the remarkable connections between people and their boats.
