Have you ever wondered where our street names come from? Many are named after local settlers and dignitaries who are buried at the Cheltenham Pioneer historic cemetery. Some of the streets we will look at – Crawford, Barrett, Charles, Edward and Booker Streets Cheltenham; Comport, Beaumaris; Cullinane, Black Rock; Kingston Road, Moorabbin; Tootal Road Dingley; Bloxsidge Mordialloc; Watkins Aspendale; Mundy Mentone and the proposed new suburb of Pennydale. This new tour is part of our ongoing quest to document the life stories of our early settlers. Perhaps one of these is your ancestor or you live near one of these streets!
