This publication celebrates the first 40 years of the Australian Tapestry Workshop (formerly the Victorian Tapestry Workshop). The original vision of Lady Delacombe and Dame Elisabeth Murdoch AC DBE, John Blanch, Baillieu Myer AC and many others was realised in the establishment of the VTW in 1976 under the inspired leadership of Sue Walker AC. Since then the organisation has become a world centre of excellence in contemporary tapestr6y, which is an extraordinary accomplishment and a tribute to Australian creativity and innovation.
