Born at Kingston near Ballarat, and died at his residence in Brunswick Street, North Fitzroy in 1926. He was aged 55.
He was a doctor, for some time resident surgeon at the Creswick Hospital. In 1900 he returned to Melbourne and established the practice in North Fitzroy in the early 1900's. He was also a keen numismatist, who loaned early paper money to the Public State Library. He was an Honorary Doctor at the Fitzroy cricket and football clubs.
